On April 11, the Global Resilience Institute will hold its inaugural lecture and panel discussion hosted by Northeastern University’s Provost, Dr. James C. Bean.
The event will begin with a presentation by GRI’s Founding Director, Dr. Stephen Flynn, on the Institute’s interdisciplinary approach which brings together each of the University’s nine colleges towards resilience solutions to the world’s most pressing security challenges, both man-made and naturally occurring.
In order to achieve GRI’s mission of informing and advancing societal resilience around the world, the institute will engage stakeholders from the public, private, and academic sectors across a wide spectrum of knowledge, expertise and responsibilities. Following Dr. Flynn’s lecture, Dr. Uta Poiger, Dean of the College of Social Sciences and Humanities will lead a panel featuring thought leaders in international resilience from industry, academia, and government.
The event will be held from 1:15 to 2:30 PM in the auditorium at Northeastern University’s Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering building on Columbus Avenue. Doors will open at 1 PM. Pre-registration is not required to attend this event, but space is limited so we recommend a prompt arrival.
