Alicia Sasser Modestino on the Boston Business Journal: State Report Probes Root Cause of Nurse Shortage at Mass. Hospitals
Alicia Sasser Modestino, Associate Professor with appointments in the School of Public Policy,Urban Affairs and the Department of Economics at Northeastern University as well as a GRI Faculty Affiliate was featured in the Boston Business Journal for her state-wide report that looked into the root cause as to why there is a nurse shortage happening in hospitals state-wide. The report looked from the spring and summer of 2020 to evaluate the changes, challenges and disruptions in the health care market prompted by the pandemic, with a focus on nursing, direct care workers and those in behavioral health.
