Gil Jamieson is a member of the Global Resilience Institute’s Post-Disaster Assessment and Advisory Team.
Jamieson is the Chief Operating Officer of J&M Global Solutions, LLC a business management consultant providing specialized risk managing products and consulting services to governments, businesses, educational institutions, and the health care industry. Jamieson oversees all organizational development and strategic planning contracts and provides overarching leadership for long-term and post-disaster economic recovery efforts.
A retired member of the Senior Executive Service, Jamieson’s last federal assignment was as FEMA’s Deputy Administrator for Gulf Coast Recovery and the Principal Federal Official in the Gulf Coast States from 2006 to 2008. Before being appointed to the post, his experience successfully managing large scale organizations also included time spent serving as FEMA’s as Director of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) Integration Center, Deputy Director of FEMA’s Preparedness Division, and Acting Director of the National Emergency Training Center.
Jamieson has held national level FEMA positions dating back to 1979.
GRI’s Post-Disaster Assessment and Advisory Team is a group of experts with deep operational experience in disaster response. Working in ways analogous to National Transportation Safety Board teams, GRI’s team conducts extensive analysis and in-depth interviews about the disaster, the response and recovery efforts.
