Between Fear and Hope: How Resilient Can Cities Be?
Josef Konvitz is an historian, authority on urban and economic governance, and former diplomat. A graduate of Cornell and Princeton Universities, he taught at Michigan State University (1973-92) before joining the OECD in a second career as an international civil servant. As Head of Urban Affairs (1995-2003) and Regulatory Policy (2003-11), he supported several member countries to implement reforms, and helped to construct partnerships between the OECD and countries in Eastern Europe, South America, the Middle East, and South East Asia . He is the author of Cities and Crisis (Manchester University Press, 2016).
