El Poder de las Personas – CIGIDEN
Global Resilience Institute Facility Affiliate, Daniel Aldrich, Professor of Political Science, Public Policy and Urban Affairs, will be speaking at CIGIDEN (Research Center for Integrated Disaster Risk Management) on social ties and resilience. He will be the conference master of the El Poder De Las Personas (The Power of the People) conference.
The conference will be occurring on November 13 from 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM and November 14 from 5:00 PM - 8:00 PM .
CIGIDEN is a research center of excellence whose mission is to develop, integrate and transfer scientific knowledge, and to form advanced human capital that contributes to reduce the social consequences of extreme natural events. Their mission is to guide the discussions and decisions that must be taken in the face of disasters, through scientific and technical evidence, to help implement improvements that increase the resilience of the country. CIGIDEN is an official partner of the Global Resilience Research Network (GRRN).

Novel approaches for responding to the growing array of shocks and protracted disruptions are urgently needed. Devising them requires close collaboration amongst researchers, policymakers and practitioners worldwide. The Global Resilience Research Network, founded by the Global Resilience Institute at Northeastern University, provides a forum for collaboration on resilience-building efforts, and supports the sharing of resilience tools, applications, skills, and best practices to facilitate their rapid and widespread adoption worldwide.
