The Food Justice and Community Resilience Speaker Series is hosted by Northeastern’s School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs and the Global Resilience Institute.

The third session, focusing on Urban Farming and Food Security, will be held on March 24th from 5:30 – 6:30 pm in Renaissance Park, Room 310R.

About the Speakers

Barbara Knecht is the Project Leader of the Urban Farming Institute where she organizes, strategizes, and manages land development activities.

 

 

 

 

 

Maritza Rosario is the Regional Director of The Food Project for Greater Boston. Maritza is an internationally experienced non-profit and public sector leader who has dedicated her life to combining community activist efforts with service-learning frameworks. Her accomplishments include co-founding a student-run business program for the Chicago Public School District and serving as a founding board member of Y2Y Harvard Square—a shelter for young adults experiencing homelessness.
