Governing Urban Resilience: New comparative approaches | Morning Session
The Global Resilience Institute will host two pre-conference panel sessions as part of the American Political Science Association’s Annual Meeting and Exhibition being held in Boston from August 30 through September 2. The two moderated panels hosted by GRI are part of a short course entitled, “Governing Urban Resilience: New Comparative Approaches”.
The course will examine urban resilience through the lens of political science and its role in helping to shape policy and the discourse surrounding it. As several recent storms and past events have illustrated, Boston faces a variety of risks from natural hazards as well as human caused disruptions. Policymakers and researchers must continue to search for new, innovative resilience solutions. As a leader in resilience research and a dedicated member of the Boston community, GRI has the unique opportunity to contribute to this important imperative.
