Humphrey Fellowship Workshop in Energy Resilience: Equity and Inclusive Action in an Increasingly Turbulent World
The Global Resilience Institute will host the Humphrey Felllowship delegates in Boston from March 25th to March 28th, where delegates will participate in an active workshop exploring energy system resilience in the face of climate change, renewable energy transformation, and other disruptions.
The workshop will be oriented toward revealing inequities, injustices and disparities in existing systems and approaches for empowering participants to develop innovative locally-appropriate strategies and skills for advancing energy and climate resilience in their own contexts. Multiple guest speakers will add diversity of perspective and geography. The workshop will include local field trips allowing participants to discover challenges of energy and climate resilience in and around the city of Boston. All of the sessions will be interactive and discussion-based, providing continual opportunities for participants to reflect on their own experiences and their own professional work.
The workshop will be facilitated by GRI's Director for Strategic Research Collaborations, Jennie Stephens. Speakers will include Alex Papali of Clean Water Action, GRI Distinguished Senior Fellow Vilas Mujumdar, Laurence Delina of the Pardee Center, Kristen Raub of UVM, and GRI Distinguished Fellow and former Chief Resilience Officer for the City of Boston Atyia Martin.
