New Chances and Perspectives: The Partnership between Northeastern University and University of Freiburg
In April 2019, Northeastern University and University of Freiburg signed a Memorandum of Understanding, paying the way towards a partnership between the two universities. The international cooperation focuses on the highly interdisciplinary field of resilience research. Jan Frederick Unnewehr, Research Associate at University of Freiburg and a key member of the new partnership, will be presenting his views on the difficulties of resilience research in power systems through a case study on Puerto Rico’s Energy Systems.
The event will be held from 12 pm- 1 pm at Renaissance Park, room 310.

About the Speaker
Jan Frederick Unnewehr is a Research Associate and PhD student at the Department of Sustainable Systems Engineering (INATECH) at the University of Freiburg. He holds a Master of Science degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Oldenburg. His research focuses on modeling and simulation of the electrical power systems and the interaction between different stakeholders in the energy domain. The topic of his PhD is "European grid expansion with increased integration of renewable energies, current and future grid usage in the European Union."
