Join GRI and Northeastern’s Office of Sustainability for a workshop, “Opportunities for Sustainable Development in the Wake of the COVID-19 Crisis,” on Monday, November 9 at 12 PM.
This virtual event will feature GRI Postdoctoral Research Associate Liz Allen will facilitate a discussion exploring the question, has the COVID-19 pandemic has created new opportunities for sustainability transitions in U.S. communities? The discussion will cover municipal and regional scale economic development planning as well as changes underway in the private sector. We’ll talk about examples of how this public health and economic crisis has exposed and exacerbated existing inequalities and unsustainable systems. The session will also focus on hopeful examples of policymaking in response to the crisis that advances sustainability goals and perspectives on possibilities for larger-scale sustainable transitions.
