Racial Disparities, Resilience, and Opportunity

Event Website

Racial and demographic issues are embedded in many discussions of urban and regional policy, private sector development, education, housing, and public safety planning. Boston's history of racial discrimination is now being addressed through open dialogues, policy recommendations within city government and the Imagine Boston 2030 strategic plan, and with support from the Rockefeller Foundation's 100 Resilient Cities initiative. How might these efforts overcome the perceptions and realities of Boston's racial dynamics? How does Boston's approach to social justice through racial healing compare with other American cities initiatives? What role does racial diversity play in shaping Boston's future? Racial and demographic issues are embedded in many discussions of urban and regional policy, private sector development, education, housing, and public safety planning.
