Reflections on COP24 Climate Negotiations | SPPUA in Action Seminar Series
Hosted by the School of Public Policy and Urban Affairs, SPPUA in Action Seminar Series is a community-building initiative that brings together faculty, students, alumni, and friends of the School to share their current work, either research or practice. The goal is to strengthen the School’s network by discussing ideas and showing its diversity of projects.
Each hour-long seminar features either one 30-minute or two 15-minute presentations with plenty of time for interactive discussion. All presentations are held at Renaissance Park, Room 310.
The January 15 event will feature presentations from Northeastern University (NU) students who attended the 24th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP24) event in Poland. The group was led by Global Resilience Institute (GRI) Associate Director of Strategic Research Collaborations Laura Kuhl and GRI Program Manager for Research Partnerships Kyla Van Maanen. Throughout the 10 day event, the NU team sat in on live climate negotiations between national parties, attended lectures and events at the International Pavilion, and networked at side events outside of the official grounds.
