This paper aims to quantify the role of swell and wind waves as they relate to coastal wetland and barrier island erosion. To do this, the authors introduced a numerical model that gives insight into the temporal and spatial variability of wave power. Increased understanding of these variable can help improve the success of wetland restoration projects.
