Cities in a Time of Terror: Space, Territory, and Local Resilience
Using case studies from over 25 countries, this book explores the characteristics and ramifications of urban terrorism. It examines the characteristics and evolution of urban terrorism, how terrorists use a city's own assets against it, and attempts at increasing resilience through surveillance and policy changes. It concludes that despite pessimistic predictions for the future, local resilience is an inherent and long-term condition of cities, but one which must be supported and advanced by leaders in the political sphere.
