FAA Needs a More Comprehensive Approach to Address Cybersecurity As Agency Transitions to NextGen

This report finds that as the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) transitions to the Next Generation Air Transportation System (NextGen), it faces a number of cybersecurity issues in three major areas: "protecting air traffic control information systems, protecting aircraft avionics used to operate and guide aircraft, and clarifying cybersecurity roles and responsibilities among multiple FAA offices" (p.
