Identification of Network Parameter Errors

Topics: Energy, Critical Infrastructure Theory,

This short report proposes a new measurement model for use in energy management applications. The method, which the authors argue is easily integrated into existing systems, could more accurately identify network parameter errors associated with various parts of the power grid, including transmission line resistances, transformer reactances and tap values. Additionally, they note that the proposed model has an important advantage in that it can successfully differentiate bad analog measurements from incorrect network parameters, even if they appear concurrently.
