Modeling hurricane-induced wetland-bay and bay-shelf sediment fluxes

Topics: Water/Wastewater,

This paper presents a coupled modeling system for hurricane winds, storm surge, waves and sediment transport on the coast of Louisiana and tries to answer how much sediment is transported during a major hurricane, and the source of the deposited sediment. This model can help further understanding on how hurricanes shape sediment processes in coastal wetlands, which may have implications for coastal restoration projects.
