Network Resilience: A Systematic Approach

This article works on the assumption that resilience solutions in networking, and particularly the Internet, are inappropriate or difficult to manage. It studies metrics, policies, and information sensing mechanisms to better understand network defense and then presents and applies a framework for building resilience in these networked systems using a case study. It calls for further experimentation before all of the changes proposed are applied, but maintains that application-level measures like service virtualization are important and easily implemented.
