On the Quantification of Operational Supply Chain Resilience

Topics: Supply Chain,

This article aims to introduce a metric for supply chain resilience which more effectively accounts for its inherently multidimensional and often nonlinear nature. Hypothetical disruptions are used to test and illustrate the capabilities of the new model. Though the article outlines several restrictions of its tool in terms of real-world application, including limitations in including such factors as customer behavior and varying rates of disruption onset, it finds that its model is effective in evaluating resilience beyond qualitative observation.
