Preface to historic and paleoflood analyses: New perspectives on climate, extreme flood risk, and the geomorphic effects of large floods | Global Resilience Institute

This is a preface to a collection of papers that address flood science questions through the lens of paleoflooding events, floods that occurred prior to instrumented records. This collection of papers represents the state of the field: it demonstrates the breadth of paleoflood hydrology and discusses the advances in the field and how they are increasingly relevant to today’s flood management practices.
