The Role of Knowledge in Building Food Security Resilience across Food System Domains

Topics: Food and Agriculture,

This resource outlines what comprises "resilient knowledge" and explores how it relates to food systems, food security, and general knowledge systems. To do so, it compares knowledge generation, transmission, access, and use in the global industrial, independent commercial, local and sustainable, and fair trade food system domains. It argues that each type of knowledge defined must be "participatory, multi-actor, iterative, and transparent" to best work to boost food security resilience as transparent, open institutions tend to encourage prosperity.
