ECE/Khoury Professor Yun Raymond Fu received a $50K 2021 Adobe Data Science Research Award for his proposal on “Time-Aware Causal Embedding for Personalized Digital Marketing.”

They propose a time-aware causal embedding method to capture the temporal evolution of causal effects for individual users, and instantiate a streaming recommender system for the personalized digital marketing task. They target to provide an interpretable and theoretically-sound approach for estimating temporal causal effects, and also develop a practical evaluation framework for Adobe solutions.
